In the 14th arrondissement dominates the tower of Montparnasse (Tour Montparnass) and consists mainly of newly built houses and offices. However, there are 7 theaters, cinemas as well as some quite good bistros.

What to do in Paris 14 ? 
Les Catacombes de Paris, 1 avenue du colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy (Métro 4, 6: Denfert Rochereau) . The Paris catacombs are a vast network of abandoned mining galleries under the French capital. It began to use the decade of 1780 as ossuary and during the 4th century opened for the first time for the public. In their present form, the catacombs are decorated with the bones and the headaches of about 6.000.000 unlucky Parisians and because of this particularity they are showing increasing interest from tourists.
Tour Montparnasse (Métro: Montparnasse – Bienvenüe) . The tower of Montparnasse was inaugurated in 1973 and is the last skyscraper built in Paris to date. It has 59 floors and it is the tallest building in Paris after the Eiffel tower. It houses offices, shops and restaurants and offers unique views of Paris.
L’Observatoire de Paris, 61, Ave. de l’Observatoire, Entrée: 77, Avenue Denfert-Rochereau (RER B: Denfert Rochereau, Metro: Port-Royal or Denfert-Rochereau). It’s about it France’s first Astronomy Observatory and one of the most important in Europe.
Parc Montsouris, boulevard Jourdan (RER: Cité-Universitaire) . The Montsouris Park is another very picturesque park in Paris. Extends to 15 hectares and includes over 1500 trees and flowers.
Hôtel de Massa, 38 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Jacques . It is a magnificent old mansion house, which at first glance does not seem particularly special. Its peculiarity is that it was built in 1777, not where it is now but on the Champs Elysées! . Click on the link to learn his story.
