12th arrondissement_Paris

Paris 12_

We could say that it is a simpler arrondissement compared to the neighboring zones, but it has certainly its own charme. Here you will find many cafes and restaurants, which are preferred by the locals and students, as well as the modern Opera Bastille.

We suggest a walk to the Bercy Village , a French traditional “village” in the heart of Paris and ofcourse the Vincennes forest.

What to do in Paris 12 ? 🤷‍♂️

Opéra Bastille, Place de la Bastille ( Métro: Bastille ) . The imposing building of the Bastille Opera was inaugurated on July 1989 and is a huge and ultra-modern building. It has 2700 seating capacity and is larger than the historical opera of Paris, the Palais Garnier (Palla Garnier). The first thing to note by observing the opera house is its modern architecture and if you happen to watch a performance you will realize that it is also a state-of-the-art opera with excellent acoustics.

Bercy Village (Métro 14: Cour Saint-Émilion) . Bercy Village is an area in the 12 apartment which refers to a traditional French village with many taverns and recreation areas. It is especially popular with the locals who swarm it for “ouzo and meze” in the summer months. There you will find a very picturesque garden, the jardin Yitzhak Rabin.

Bois de Vincennes, ( Métro: Porte Dorée or Porte de Charenton ). It is a forest area of a total area of 995 hectares. The Vincennes forest, along with that of Boulogne, are the two great green lemons of Paris. If you choose to visit it, look for it a small Buddhist temple which is there, whose existence is even ignored by the locals.
